The Greater Merseyside ChangeUp Consortium commissioned 3tc to build them an online repository of ICT related materials for educating & informing voluntary sector orgainisations and individuals on Merseyside.

large caption from the ChangeUp Merseyside site The site is built around the excellent Joomla!CMS, which had the necessary components for the job. One of the largest projects 3tc has undertaken to date, the site allows users to register free, and grants them access to a number of useful facilities including user forums, an online directory of voluntary services, and a download centre. Non-registered users still have the ability to view all the articles written on the site, and also have access to the downloadable templates to help kick start various ICT strategies.

3tc was keen to continue it's association with open source products, and once again opted to use Joomla! Open Source to deliver the project on time and budget. The template is completely tableless, and was designed with accessibility in mind. The site is liquid, and expands to fill the browser screen. It also scales well with text-size alteration, and publishes an RSS feed so that users can stay upto date with the latest articles and news from the project. Where possible, web standards are adhered to, as are accessibility standards.
